International Space Station
Construction of the International Space Station began in 1988. It circles the Earth once every 90 minutes. The International Space Station plays an important role in experiments in biology, human biology, physics, astronomy, meteorology, and other fields. The station is equipped for the testing of spacecraft systems and equipment required for missions to the Moon and Mars. The station has been serviced by the Space Shuttles.
